Fall Additions New and Old

I just am showing off some of my fall items that I created and I listed previously or just listed. I should of gotten backgrounds that were appropriate to the theme but I am really watching my expenses because all sales are going towards my craft fair expense. Autumn Acorn coin purse.

Mexican Sugar Purse coin pouch. I love this pink vinyl so much and I still can't find it at a reasonable price. Bewitching Kitschy Hairpins.
This is still my favorite necklace for some reason.
My favorite classic monster of all times.
A Nosferatu silhouette that I turned into earrings too.

and I finally made some sugar skull hairpins. I don't glitter the skulls but with this batch I had to because the clear glossy glaze that I had on hand became foggy so I had to use the glittery varnish which I wasn't sure if I was going to like but they turned out okay.
I think this will be all I will create for spooky/harvest items. Their are one more pair of earrings of a crow that I still need to list.
It's kind of scary with how bad the economy is getting and so many lay-offs everywhere, I have really seen a drastic change in my shop. I do have wholesale orders that keep me busy in between but I do worry about the future and I am a little worried about this whole craft fair thing too. Is it going to be a hit or bust. I guess I wont know but I do know that I won't expect to be that busy this year when it comes to holiday shopping.

I took the boys to the Harvest Festival at Underwood Farms and they had a riot. They climbed tons of haystacks in different sizes.
Saw the pig races which were hilarious.
Got lost in a corn maze. After about 45 minutes we found our way out.
Took a tractor ride.
Saw the livestock. This here is Antonio the Donkey.
and ate tons of shaved ice since it was over 100 degrees.
By the end of the day mom was out of money and the boys were so tired that they went to bed as soon as they took their baths.
Sunday was pretty much spent relaxing, because those 2 really wore me out.

I Finally.........

have my computer back.

Now I can sit back and relax while I upload my pictures. I guess they said the motherboard went out. I wish I was a computer tech. I really hate not being able to fix it myself. I feel so stupid every time I take it in. Oh well, all I know is I jumped for joy when I got the call to pick it up and that none of my files were deleted.

Most of my week was spent trying to work on wholesale orders and getting ready for Felt Club. I am really getting nervous about my first craft fair. I have so many ideas in my head and I have no idea if I will have enough time to do it all.

The rest of the week was spent with David's therapy 4 times a week with playgroups on Friday. He has improved so much in the last couple of months. I can hear more words in his vocabulary and his sensory has been more tolerable. I still see the ADHD in his little body but I can't test him until he is older. At least I am able to dedicate this time to him which will improve his development. Jake is doing so well in school most of his time is spent with his BFF which is okay with me as he is a handful when he has nothing to do.

So I am happy now and this week I will spend time with my boys at the movies and maybe taking them to Oktoberfest at the Underwood Farms.

Computer Issues

I really hate anything to do with a computer. I am running on dial-up which is the most frustrating thing in the world. My computer finally went oout again due to the power supply, this is the 2nd time in the past year. Anyways, I am using my parent's computer for the next week or so and they don't have the internet connected so I am using aol which is the slowest thing ever. I feel like screaming.
So I won't be able to blog or update onto flickr or upload any pictures on to my etsy shop because it takes tooooooooooooooooooooooooooo long.

Cigar Labels

The week that I organized my stash I wanted to label my containers and boxes and I was ready to buy some pre-made labels but then a light bulb went off in my dusty brain and I said to myself, Hey I can make them! I can be lazy at times and end up buying the things instead of making them myself. So anyways, I got out my large blank labels that I use for mailing envelopes and printed a ton of cigar labels in different colors and cut around the image.

I am pretty content with the finish product and I think I went overboard and labeled everything in my house even if I know what is in it.
I hope it cools down pretty soon because I can't stand these headaches. My day was pretty much running to my hand dr. then returning some clothes for my eldest at Old Navy and stopping next door at Cost Plus. In my mind I said to myself that all I was going to do was return the pants and get out. Well then I saw the baby clothes at 40% off and couldn't pass it up, then I thought I would check the wine section at Cost Plus and ended up buying a cute little tray and some cheetos for Dave that were too scary for him to eat because it had a picture of a witch on the front with her index finger sticking out because the name of the bag was called "Witches Fingers", so that was pretty much my day for today.

Idle Hands

Been busy creating items for Felt Club lately and I made this for me, for once. I never keep anything for myself but I had this little fawn and knew I wanted to wear him in some way so I thought of making a brooch. I also made my interpretation of Idle Hands with these cute pair of hands using flowers and a sterling silver chain to create a very out there necklace. I really like the wackyness in this necklace.
Then I took a picture of a swarm of plastic babies for no reason. I just thought that they are too cute all bunched up together.
Pretty much my day has been busy and on top of that I have a major headache due to this awful heat.

To The Fair Again

I did take the boys to the fair and told them I would only be there for 2 hours and ended staying 6 hours. My feet still ache from all the walking even though it was a small fair.

Some of the kiddie rides that Big "D" got on without crying.

Enjoying some cotton candy, well actually I gave it to him because he was getting a little irritated since he had not taken a nap all day.
Jake and his Best Friend.

I wanted to get on the ferris wheel but I had spent all my money by then.

This pretty much was the last picture I took. I don't even want to think about the stupidity I did with the other pictures I took. I had taken the cutest picture of David on some of the kiddie rides and then for some reason the pictures started coming out really pale and washed out, well I was trying to figure out why it was taking them that way and I hit the format button and deleted everything. I still get so angry when I think about it. Oh well, their is no point crying about it now but it's still annoying.

Nut in much

Nothing really going on. We have been so sick that all I can smell in the house is vapor rub. At least my oldest didn't have school today. They just started school and they already have a day off. I had open house the other night and again he gets a very young teacher. All he talks about is his teacher and completely forgot about last years teacher. Too funny.

Tomorrow if we feel better, I will take the boys to the fair that is just around the corner from the house. Our city has grown so much that their is no place to put the fair this year and they ended setting it up at our community park which is great for us because it's within walking distance but it's kind of small. It's funny to drive down the street and see this huge ferris wheel which we have never seen so close to the house. Well, it's been pretty quiet and I am off to finish my latest book that I will be sharing soon.

Bird Trauma + Fevers

Usually these two have nothing to with one another but for me it does. Both my boys are sick and the little one kept me up last night. I have been up since 5 a.m. with him watching t.v. and as I was trying to get the oldest ready for school around 7 am we heard the chickens and birds making all kinds of noises outside and as we looked out the window we see a huge hawk stuck on the side of the birdcage.
See below, this is the culprit. and this is our walk in Bird Habitat as I call it. It houses doves, lovebirds, 2 cuckatoos, 1 chicken, 1 rooster, 1 finch, 1 parakeet and many diamond back doves. They pretty much all live in harmony with each other.
Except for these guys who have been targeted by the hawk. They live in a seperate housing facility because they cannot live amongst the rest for some reason. They bite on the legs of the other birds.
So anyways, the one on the left side had his/her tail feathers pulled right off.
Poor thing. I hope he doesn't die on us do the nature of his trauma.

I had to move their cage inside the porch to protect them because this same hawk has already killed one of our canaries by pulling him through the wire cage. I need to make them a mesh covering because this hawk isn't giving up and comes to the yard on a regular basis. So far he has been over 4 times this morning.

So that pretty much wraps my Monday morning. Well see if he continues to return, which I am pretty he will.

Releasing Steam

It's nice to wake up Sunday morning and check your email and have a very pleasant email that really brightened my day, I just love her blog full of tipful advise and etsy shop. Thank you so much.
Then I had a customer email me yesterday telling me her package didn't arrive and the worst thing is, it was supposed to be a present for her friend. She was so nice and understanding, I just wish it had arrived on time for her.
You know, It really annoys me when I make it clear everywhere on my shop to always communicate with me any problems, or complaints before leaving feedback. But do they do it. NO! Why, I ask?????? It's so easy to talk to me and email me, I go out of my way on customer service to please anybody but I don't understand why I can't get those few to contact me but I hear about them on their neutral or negative feedback and on something so simple that I can fix too.
Okay, it's out of my system and I can relax. I say I don't care too much on feedback but it irritates me at times to read them. Oh well......Let it go....... LET IT GO............

I wanted to share another internet shop that sells so much adorable cuteness from baking goods to Paper Goods. It's called Peacoats and Party Hats. All her kits seem to always sell out. She has a quiet a neat selection of scrapbook paper that are beautiful, I love the fawn in this paper.

Tomorrow I will show you a little glimpse of some of the new items I will listing this coming week. I couldn't believe with all the cleaning and organizing, all the items I listed. I have never been over 250+ items in my shop and I still have a ton more to list. I have over 2 dozen brooches I need to list plus some hairclips that will be listed soon.

Sacred Kitsch

I wanted to share a site that I love, it's called Sacred Kitsch Studio, when I returned from my trip I received this cool box full of the kitschiest mexican postcards, sacred hearts and a bunch of cool charms and trinkets.
This paper is so bright and beautiful, I am still thinking of what to do with it. Their is a bunch of cool paper she offers that I want.
These cutie kewpies have nothing to do with mexican but they are adorable.
I am a sucker for ephemera, especially mexican novelas or old cinema posters. I especially love Mexican Calender Girls, the book is awesome and those pictures are beautiful.
I better get back to resting because this cold really has a hold on me and does not want to go away.

Last Weekend

My weekend started with a few of these below (Good Times) visting family and friends in New Jersey. Then on Sunday I went to New York. I really wanted to go look for a new macro lens for my camera but ended up in Chinatown and Little Italy.

I walked so much and with the heat and my cold, I thought I was going to faint. plus the smell. Not a good mixture on a hot, holiday weekend.
But then, I got a glimpse of this store
and I forgot my ailment and ran in with much joy.
The store is so much more amazing than the internet. I couldn't contain myself and bought so much Kawaii cuteness. Their is a ton items and was only able to see just one floor. I can't wait to go back in the winter. They have the most amazing paper lantern section I have ever seen, I was in awe of everything.
So, that was my exciting weekend on top of getting an email from Felt Club letting me know I was accepted as a vendor, which I am very excited about but at the same time, I am nervous because I have never done a craft fair. When I was doing flowers and invitations I did one with my cousin but I feel this is different, so I am very nervous about how to set it up. I need to start working on this now because I believe the date is Nov. 16th so I need to make a ton of items on top of the things I am creating for lollishop. I have no idea how I am going to pull this off on top of taking care of the boys. Well I am going back to bed because I still feel really sick, at least I don't have a fever but my head is killing me still.
